10.01.15 Barron’s Enterprises leases 55,000 sf at Kenwood’s Rockville facility

Barron’s Enterprises will add a second location in Montgomery County. This lease represents one the largest industrial leases in Montgomery County in 2015. Barron’s is a building products supplier for remodelers and home builders and has operated in Montgomery for over 55 years. The Gaithersburg-based firm executed a 10 year lease for the entire building at 1008 Westmore Avenue. The lease commenced in October.

An affiliate of Kenwood Management acquired this project through a sale-leaseback with Office Movers in 2007. At the time, Office Movers agreed to a 7-year lease. Office Movers vacated at the end of last year.

At one time, the building was an indoor tennis facility and offers extremely large column spacing with up to 40 feet clear height.

Kenwood’s Bill Singer said "We are very happy to welcome Barron’s to our Westmore facility. Barron’s is a great business that provides building supplies to contractors. This project’s layout and location works extremely well for their use."

Guy Copperhite and Jim Darby from Transwestern represented Barron’s. Ken Fellows and Erik Pedersen of Edge Commercial represented Kenwood.
